Belfast Blues Festival is an iconic feature of the city’s live music scene, bringing great music to its streets, pubs and clubs. However, the festival’s organisers felt that the current programme format had become bland and difficult to navigate. They wished to breathe new life and vitality into forth-coming events in order to attract a wider audience and secure more sponsors. To this end, Oranga Creative was tasked with the job of creating a more contemporary, colourful and vibrant programme.
Ease of use is a key factor for the programme, so from the outset Oranga Creative suggested a change of format, converting the somewhat bulky A3 fold-out programme into a compact, manageable twelve-page A5 booklet. This immediately solved the user navigation issues and a clearer form of communication to the audience. In addition, the shift to A5 from A3 meant our client could more easily provide sponsorship platforms and paid-for advertising space within the document.
The final product was a huge success with over 10,000 copies handed out during the campaign, as well as additional products such as Concert T-shirts and other merchandise.
“Chiho Tang and the Oranga Creative team were instrumental in delivering a massive creative lift for the Belfast City Blues Festival. Our programme had had the same design for a number of years. They took a totally new approach and gave it a modern, interesting and vibrant face lift. Working with Chiho and the team was easy. The guys are highly creative, very flexible in dealing with last minute changes and deadlines and went out of their way to accommodate us every step of the way. All in all, a great experience and I shall definitely use them again in the future.”
